B'nai B'rith is the biggest international Jewish organization
dedicated to the security and the continuity of Jewish identity
and State of Israel, protection of human rights, fight against
anti-Semitic tendencies and providing services to the Jewish community
on the broadest principles of humanity.
The mission of B'nai B'rith is to unify Jewish community worldwide
and strengthen their Jewish identity. Our members are only the
most eminent members of Jewish community. Love to the next and
tolerance are our basic postulates.
One of the B'nai B'rith's principles is it's neutral stand to
the religion and politics. Our members can be of various religious
orientations and have various political standing points.
The motto of B'nai B'rith is
"Charity, Fraternal Love and Harmony".
B’nai B’rith has the status of a NGO and has as such
a continuous presence within the United Nations, the UNESCO, the
Council of Europe, the USA and the European Union.
B'nai B'rith in Croatia was established in 1927 under the name
"Zagreb Lodge 1090", thanks to a group of eminent members
of the Jewish community of that time. This Lodge acted in Zagreb
until 1941 when it was dismissed. It's members were the first
that were taken and killed in the death camps.
Thanks to the group of enthusiasts under leadership of Dr Dragan
Stern and due to his enormous international reputation, the work
of B'nai B'rith in Croatia was renewed in 1998. Among the renewers
were the most eminent members of Jewish community in Croatia –
presidents of almost all Jewish Communities, the Advisor to the
President of Croatia and Ambassador, doctors, jurists, college
professors, businessmen and artists.
